3d TAVC Minutes

Team discussed accommodation again. Unfortunately no possibility to spend the night with friends in Vienna. On the other hand a possibility to spend the night in Zrenjanin/Serbia (Thank you Ms. Subicin!). This would mean a slight change in the route. For the rest of the journey it will have to be the tent or the car.

Team Presentation: The team to send Nadim pictures in Petra, with camels (and other transport animals) and while pumping iron (to be able to push the vehicles!). Looking forward to the first time meeting other teams and the organisers on March 12th.

Organisation committee (OC) informed that arrival in Istanbul is expected starting May 3d!!! We hope that this is a mistake because it would leave only 3 nights on the way. On the other hand the OC wrote in its last information bulletin that “…you will experience in Istanbul things no one has experienced yet” !?. I hope it is not a Turkish prison!

Karim Asali will be running the “home office” for the team and publish the teams progress on the blog. Thank you Karim and please introduce yourself.

Vehicle Preparations

After experiencing sub optimal engine performance, Amjed gave us expert assistance. The carburettor and the distributor are now dismantled and some new parts have to be bought.

Main Issue: Accomodation on the way. Team members to assess accomodation with friends and relatives on the way. Possible stays in Vienna, NoviSad, Romania (Nezar), Istanbul.

Possible detour via Beirut discussed, all in favour.
